GIMP# 0.7.1 released (for Linux and Windows) 2006-01-16

We have released GIMP# 0.7.1. This release has a lot of code clean-up, mainly by introducing .NET 2.0 features. That means that from now on you will have to use mono 1.1.x Another great addition (thanks to Max Perga) has been a new win32 installer! For the first time in history you can use your GIMP# plug-ins on Windows.

For GIMP# 0.8 we plan to add new features. Have fun.

New developer — Windows port coming soon! 2006-01-12

We have a new developer on board: Massimo (Max for short) Perga. Max is working very hard on a win32 port, including a nice and easy to use installer. Right now we are ironing out the last details, but expect a new release pretty soon.

GIMP# not dead :) 2005-11-08

Nope, GIMP# isn't dead. I plan to pick up development again pretty soon, probably starting with cleaning up code and fixing some annoying bugs. This should lead to release 0.7.1. By that time I hope Mono 1.2 will be out, so I can make use of all kind of nice new C# features like generics and anonymous methods. Stay tuned.

GIMP# is going to depend on Mono 1.1.x 2005-07-20

Until now GIMP# depended on Mono 1.0.x. However as of release 0.8 (not out yet) Gimp# will depend on Mono 1.1.x and later on Mono 1.2. I will try to keep it compatible with Mono 1.0.x until 1.2 is released, but there are no guaranties.

GIMP# 0.7 released 2005-05-09

No new functionality in the plug-ins, but GIMP API coverage has increased a lot and is more or less complete for the more important classes such as GimpDrawable, GimpImage, GimpLayer, etc.

GIMP# 0.6 released 2005-04-05

Finally a new release. The Slicer plug-in should be much more useful now. It can now even generate your rollover code (JavaScript). I have also added a plug-in to read wbmp (wireless bitmaps) and as always there are many bugfixes. In general the plug-ins are much more stable now.

The next version (0.7) will probably the last version that uses Mono 1.0.x. After that I will switch to Mono 1.1.x or 1.2 so I can use all those lovely new C# features :)

GIMP# 0.5 released 2005-01-14

After one month of hard work we have a first release of the Slicer Tool! Furthermore there are many improvements and bug fixes for the Picture Package plug-in. I also started development of a red eye correction plug-in and support was added in the framework for plug-ins that load/save files. Enjoy.

GIMP# 0.5 will have an image slicer plug-in 2005-01-08

I'm busy developing yet another new plug-in: the image slicer. Both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro already have such a tool/plug-in and this has been an often requested feature for GIMP. Gimp# 0.5 will be the first version to contain this plug-in and will be probably released within one week.

Project GIMP# now has a homepage 2004-10-05

Stay tuned...
